Hey there!
My name is Craig, I was born in Sacramento, California in 1963 and grew up in the foothill town of Weimar. I attended American River College before transferring to UC Davis, where I earned my B.A. in Art Studio in 1993. During my undergraduate years, I had the privilege of studying under Gary Pruner, Roy DeForest, David Hollowell, and Wayne Thiebaud. In 1996, I began teaching high school art classes at Chana High School in Auburn, California.

Since 2006, Iâve committed to completing a small painting nearly every day, sharing my work through my Instagram feed. Iâve found that the daily practice of painting aligns perfectly with my disposition and artistic sensibility.
Today, I live in Auburn, California, with my wonderful wife and amazing children. My works are held in private and corporate collections across North America and Europe.
I really hope youâll take advantage of this free opportunity to explore the foundations of gouache painting in a relaxed, hands-on way. Whether you're picking up a brush for the first time or looking to refine your skills, this session is for you. If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email at xxxxx or reach out on Instagram at @craigstephensart.
See you at the easel!
